Applications/Flue Gas treatment

Flue Gas treatment

Hydrated lime , sodium bicarbonate (soda ash), and Powder Activated Carbon (PAC) play a vital  role when controlling the flue gas treatment process during incineration (household, industrial and hospital wastes).  Flue gas treatment mainly consists in sulphur dioxide (SO2) removal.  (Flue Gas Desulphurization-FGD).  Furthermore, hydrated lime and sodium bicarbonate are also used to eliminate other pollutants such as hydrogen chloride (HCl) sulphur trioxide (SO3), other heavy metal particles such as mercury with PAC.

In every one of these processes, acidic gases react with lime or sodium bicarbonate (soda ash) and create a dry material which is separated by a scrubber and collected in bag filters or electro-filters.

In order to inject hydrated lime or sodium bicarbonate, the following equipment are necessary :

Soda Ash silo Bin Activator with multiple screw feeders

Hydrated lime silo unloader and feed system

Storage silo : fitted with a mechanical bin activator and volumetric screw feeder. Sodimate’s silo unloader can be supplied with up to 4 independent screw feeders under the same container in order to feed several pneumatic conveying lines, lances or mixers.

and
Pneumatic transfer system : for conveying the dry reagent up to the flue gas ducts. (dry process)

or
Lime/slurry milk preparation tank (semi-wet and wet processes)
